Medical and Fitness to Dive

Medical and Fitness to Dive

Before every course, you complete a short diving medical questionnaire. For many students, that is all that is needed. If the form asks for a doctor’s clearance, it is usually a straightforward extra check. Ban’s arranges a free return taxi so you can get the form signed. Students regularly need this check and, in my experience, it is uncommon for someone not to receive clearance. The doctor always makes the final decision.

Divemaster medical clearance

Divemaster candidates always need a doctor signed medical clearance. It must be dated within the previous 12 months and remain valid until the programme is completed.

Local practical information

When a doctor check is required, the current cost is 200 THB. This is not a standard course charge. Lex can help you understand the process, but only the doctor can confirm whether you are medically fit to dive.

Important boundary

This page explains the course paperwork and registration process. It does not provide medical advice.
