In 3½ days you’ll learn the skills and confidence to dive independently as a certified PADI Open Water Diver. We combine clear theory sessions with pool training and four ocean dives, with personal guidance throughout.
PADI Open Water Diver
This course is for complete beginners who want their first full diving certification. No previous diving experience is required. Basic water comfort and a willingness to learn apply. Guests who only want to try diving should be guided towards Discover Scuba Diving. Already-certified divers should be guided towards Advanced, specialties or fun diving.
Accommodation is available only together with a diving course. Lex can help arrange the reservation, while room availability, payment, changes and refunds are handled by Ban’s Diving Resort and reception.
17:00 orientation, paperwork, medical process and videos 1-3.
08:30 pool skills, theory and videos 4-5.
07:00 boat dives 1-2, building to a maximum of 12m, plus theory and the final quiz.
07:00 boat dives 3-4, logbook and certification processing.
Basic swimming and water-comfort requirements apply. If you are not sure whether you meet them, ask Lex before booking.
The course can be planned with extra attention and flexibility. A private course is especially suitable for nervous beginners or anyone who benefits from a more personal pace. The private-course upgrade is 4,000 THB per booking and depends on availability.
After certification you can dive within your training and limits, or continue with Advanced, specialties or fun diving.

Courses generally run in small groups. For an occasional larger booking, additional professionals are added so students still receive personal guidance. Lex remains the main contact, while Lex or a trusted qualified PADI professional may teach depending on planning and dates. Personal cameras and GoPros are not used during Open Water training dives. Safety, skills and course objectives come first. Professional photography may be arranged separately where available.
